Jessica Larsen and Anthony McLean - Dalhousie Rams

Jessica Larson

Jessica has been a part of the Dalhousie Loggersports team for 4 years and comes from a beef and crop farm on Prince Edward Island. An instrumental part of the 2024-25 Women's A team in her role as captain, she is also a member of the Maritime Lumberjack Association. Competing in the MLA takes Jessica all over the Atlantic provinces during the summer when she's not competing for the Rams.

Her events on the team currently are standing block chopping and axe throwing, but she has competed in every CILA event outside of pole climb.

Jessica will be attending the Stihl Women's Pro qualifier this summer to compete nationally against the top female Loggersports athletes in the country. Jessica plans to continue participating in the sport after graduation and has a bright future ahead in the Loggersports world.

Anthony McLean

Anthony, from Penobsquis NB, is in his second year of competition on the RAMS Loggersports team. A strong competitor, Anthony is the Men's A Single Buck cutter and Standing Block chopper.

When not competing for the RAMS, Anthony can be found competing in the Maritime Lumberjack Association where he specializes in Single Buck. Anthony has competed nationally in the Stihl Timbersports Rookie Series where he placed 6th in Canada.

Unfamiliar with the sport when prior to arriving at Dalhousie, Anthony was recruited by friends to try out for the team. Always eager to learn more from those around him, he picked up the sport quickly. Anthony plans to continue competing after graduation and hopes to improve on his skills and keep earning personal bests!
